Five Al Jazeera journalists killed; Israel says one Al Jazeera reporter was a Hamas member

On Sunday (19 Asad), the Israeli army issued a statement accusing the journalist of leading a Hamas cell.

The Israeli army's statement reads: "Anas al-Sharif served as the leader of a terrorist cell of the Hamas group and was responsible for carrying out rocket attacks against Israeli civilians and the Israel Defense Forces."

However, Al Jazeera has strongly rejected this claim.

Al Jazeera, confirming the killing of Anas al-Sharif, stated that he was killed on Sunday after being shot at the journalists' tent outside the main gate of the hospital.

According to the report, Anas al-Sharif, a well-known journalist for Al Jazeera's Arabic section, had produced numerous reports from northern Gaza.

According to Al Jazeera, Mohammed Qreiqa, a journalist, and Zahir and Mohammed Nofal, cameramen for the network, are also among the victims.

The Israeli army announced in a statement that it killed Anas al-Sharif, a journalist with Al Jazeera, in an attack on Gaza City.
