Pakistani Defense Minister: Taliban Terrorists Celebrated with the Blood of Our Children

Pakistan's Defense Minister, on Tuesday, 18 Sunbula, wrote on his X page: "Taliban terrorists and some Afghans have come from Afghan soil, brutally spilling the blood of our youth and holding blood-soaked celebrations."

He added that out of the five suicide attackers in the attack on the Bannu military base, three were identified as Afghans. Asif asserted: "We fought for those who now stand against us."

Pakistan's Defense Minister noted that his country has endured two long wars for Afghans, sacrificing its security and economy and losing hundreds of lives. According to him, Pakistan currently hosts over six million Afghan refugees, some of whom have become major traders and contractors.

He announced that in this attack, Major Adnan, an army officer trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK, was killed. Quoting the officer’s mother, Asif said: "If she had ten children, she would have sacrificed them all for Pakistan."

Pakistan's Defense Minister stressed that the country's soldiers do not seek power, wealth, or fame, but rather sacrifice their lives solely to protect the homeland, and Pakistan stands firm due to their devotion.

Previously, Pakistani authorities identified the Afghan attackers as Abdul Aziz, known as Qasid Muhajir, Shabbir Ahmad, alias Bilal Muhajir, and Najib, known as Haziqa.

According to a Pakistan police report, in the militant attack on the Bannu security base, six security personnel and six attackers were killed. The attackers rammed a vehicle laden with explosives into the base’s wall and then entered the facility. The clash between them and Pakistani forces lasted 12 hours.

A video released of the attackers shows one of them, before the operation, introducing himself as preparing for a suicide attack in Pakistan and requesting the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan to facilitate his attack. He stated that he was in the Bahramcha district of Helmand province.

Pakistani authorities have repeatedly accused the Afghan Taliban of sheltering Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan fighters, but the Afghan Taliban have consistently denied the presence of this group and other foreign organizations on Afghan soil. However, international reports indicate that approximately six thousand Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan fighters are present in Afghanistan, training in bases in the country.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistan's Defense Minister, following a suicide attack on a security forces base in the border region with Afghanistan, stated: "Taliban terrorists have celebrated with the blood of our children." He emphasized that such ingratitude in the face of kindness is unprecedented in world history.
