France and five other European countries recognize the state of Palestine

This decision was announced at a United Nations meeting on the two-state solution for Palestine, hosted by France with the participation of Saudi Arabia.

Reuters reported that this recognition is a turning point that could boost the morale of Palestinians, although the likelihood of an immediate change in the ground realities seems slim.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, criticized the move, stating: “No Palestinian state will be established.”

Earlier, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada had announced on September 21, 2025, that they recognize the state of Palestine.

Saudi Arabia also welcomed the decision by these European countries, expressing hope that other nations would take similar steps so that the Palestinian people can live in peace and tranquility.

Belgium, France, Malta, Monaco, Luxembourg, and Andorra have recognized the state of Palestine.
