Suspect in Charlie Kirk murder arrested in Utah

According to reports, one family member, apparently Robinson's father, encouraged him to turn himself in. The father then contacted one of the family's friends, who in turn notified the district attorney's office.


Spencer Cox, the governor of Utah, said that one family member who was questioned by investigators stated that Robinson had become "more political" in recent years.


FBI agents also announced at a Friday press conference that the suspect has been detained, and investigations into his background, political leanings, and motives are ongoing. The FBI spokesperson said: "We are confident that the individual in custody is the person we were looking for; however, we are still examining to obtain a complete picture of him and the motive behind his actions."


Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist, was killed on Wednesday, September 10, in a shooting at Utah Valley University.

According to reports from international media, the man accused of murdering Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist, was arrested by police on Friday, September 12. The individual's name has been identified as Tyler Robinson, 22 years old, from the state of Utah.
