Claims of Chinese presence in Bagram; Taliban invite US to inspect Bagram base

Nezavisimaya Gazeta, on Thursday (2 Asad), in a report citing a document and informed sources, wrote that this request was made to address Donald Trump's concerns regarding the possible presence of Chinese forces in Bagram.

In a document published by this newspaper and signed by Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid, the Taliban’s Minister of Defense, a delegation has been tasked with gathering the necessary information to convince the U.S. and facilitate the joint inspection.

According to the report, the proposal for a joint inspection has been formally presented to U.S. representatives; however, it remains unclear whether this proposal will be accepted or not.

Nevertheless, Nezavisimaya Gazeta, quoting its sources, wrote that the presence of individuals with Mongol-like appearances around the base strengthens claims regarding China’s presence in Bagram.

Donald Trump, the U.S. President, has repeatedly criticized the evacuation of the Bagram base, stating that this airbase, which he believes is the largest and most powerful in the world, is now in China’s possession.

He has repeatedly emphasized that the United States should have retained this base, as it is only one hour away from China’s nuclear facilities.

A Russian newspaper reported that the Taliban, in an unprecedented move, has invited the United States to jointly inspect the Bagram base.
