Gaza ceasefire; Hamas hands over four bodies of Israeli hostages

According to reports, so far Hamas has handed over the bodies of eight hostages. According to the first phase of the ceasefire agreement that was carried out with the mediation of the United States, this group must also hand over the bodies of 20 other hostages.

Israeli media have reported that the bodies of four more hostages are expected to be returned from Gaza on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Israel has expressed dissatisfaction with the delay in the process of handing over the bodies and has threatened that until all the bodies of the hostages are returned, humanitarian aid to Gaza will be further restricted. This is while Hamas has announced that it is facing problems in finding the remains of some of the bodies.

Israeli officials consider the delay in the process of handing over the bodies a violation of the ceasefire agreement and have emphasized that if this situation continues, they will halt aid and postpone the reopening of the Rafah crossing with Egypt.

On the other side, Palestinians are also increasingly concerned that the delay in returning the bodies by Hamas will place the future of the ceasefire in a cloud of ambiguity.

It should be noted that Hamas handed over all 20 living hostages on Monday, October 13. The Red Cross also announced in a statement that on Tuesday, it returned the remains of 45 killed Palestinians that were being held in Israel to the Gaza Strip.

The Hamas group returned four bodies of Israeli hostages to this country. Israeli officials, confirming the news, said that they have identified three of the four killed hostages that were handed over by Hamas from the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, October 14.
