British list exposed; Sunday Times: Taliban kill brother of former soldier

According to the report, this former soldier had been relocated to the UK under a resettlement program.

Adnan Malik, the lawyer for this former soldier who collaborated with British forces, said that the Taliban killed his client’s brother on Friday, 27 Saratan.

According to Mr. Malik, the brother of his client was killed by Taliban fighters after the UK Home Office exposed the list of identities of former military personnel.

He added: “The Taliban realized that this individual was the brother of a member of the Triple Unit and killed him on Friday. This individual’s name was on the exposed list. I don’t think this incident was a coincidence.”

The British newspaper The Daily Telegraph, on Wednesday, 25 Saratan, based on an investigation, announced that since the disclosure of information related to former collaborators of British forces in Afghanistan in 2022, more than 200 former Afghan soldiers and military personnel have been identified and killed by the Taliban.

The Taliban, after returning to power in Afghanistan, announced a general amnesty; however, a Taliban official told The Daily Telegraph that former collaborators of British forces are considered “spies” and are not covered by this amnesty.

It is worth mentioning that over the past four years, numerous reports from international organizations and the United Nations have been published, revealing the killing, detention, and torture of former Afghan military personnel.

The Sunday Times, in a recent report, stated that following the exposure of a list of identities of former military personnel by the UK, the Taliban killed the brother of one of Afghanistan’s former soldiers.
