Significant increase in rail exports from Iran to Afghanistan

According to him, this figure was recorded while in the previous year, only 11,500 tons of goods were transported through this route.

Rezaei added: "20,000 tons of these shipments consisted of materials for the construction of Afghanistan's railway, and the remaining 40,000 tons included export and transit goods."

He mentioned exported items to Iran such as cement, chemical fertilizers, and food products, as well as transit goods from China, India, and the UAE, including soybean meal, iron products, and sugar.

Rezaei also announced that with the completion of the Robat Paryan station, the standard railway route from Iran's border to near Herat has reached 105 kilometers, and this will accelerate rail trade in Afghanistan.

Mustafa Rezaei, CEO of the Afghanistan Railway Development Consortium, announced that in 1402, over 60,000 tons of goods were transported via the Khaf-Herat railway and through Iran's Shamtigh border crossing to Afghanistan.
