An Afghan citizen was executed by the Islamic Republic of Iran in Yazd prison.

The organization stated in a newsletter on Sunday, 4th of Aban, that this Afghan citizen, named Islam Mirsaeed, was executed on 29th of Mehr at Yazd Central Prison.


According to this human rights organization, Mirsaeed's 21-year-old son has also been sentenced to 9 years in prison on charges of complicity with his father.


The judicial system and media of the Islamic Republic have not yet officially commented on the execution of this Afghan prisoner.


Hengaw added that seven other prisoners were also executed on Sunday, 4th of Aban, in prisons across Iran.


The Iran Human Rights Organization noted that the execution of prisoners accused of drug-related offenses has increased in Iran in recent years.


According to the organization's statistics, at least 503 prisoners were executed in Iran last year on charges of drug offenses.

The human rights organization "Hengaw" has announced that an Afghan prisoner in Iran has been executed on charges related to drug offenses.
