Sources: Bloody clashes erupt between Taliban over control of gold mine

According to sources, the conflict occurred between local Taliban members and fighters dispatched from Helmand province due to a dispute over the control of a gold mine in the Yalor area.

Based on these reports, at least ten Taliban members were killed in the clash, including eight fighters from Helmand and two local individuals. It is also said that several others were injured, although the exact number of casualties remains unclear.

It is reported that the director of rights and the traffic director of Yawan district are among those killed. The conflict is still ongoing, and forces from both sides have not yet withdrawn from the area.

A local source states that Taliban members deployed from southern provinces, with the support of Taliban authorities in Badakhshan, have taken control of the mines and are dividing the profits among themselves. Meanwhile, local Taliban members have been left without a share of these revenues, which has escalated tensions and led to the outbreak of clashes.

Local sources in Badakhshan province report that on Sunday evening, a fierce clash broke out between two Taliban groups in the Yawan district.
