Pakistan repatriates more than 12,000 Afghan citizens in one day

According to information from the same commission, during the same period, 132 Afghan refugees were also deported from Iran and returned to the country via the Islam Qala and Silk Road borders.

International organizations have described the widespread expulsion of Afghan nationals from Iran and Pakistan as a violation of international laws and have warned that conditions inside Afghanistan are not safe for returnees.

The United Nations Security Council has also stated that the successive expulsions of refugees have made humanitarian aid delivery in Afghanistan more difficult. According to statistics from the International Organization for Migration, in 2025 alone, more than 1.5 million Afghans have been returned to their country from Iran and Pakistan.

The council has warned that returning Afghans are at risk of torture, inhuman and degrading treatment, and serious harm.

The Taliban's Supreme Commission on Refugees has announced that Pakistan, on Saturday, November 8, expelled a total of 12,323 Afghan citizens from its territory, and they entered Afghanistan via the Torkham, Spin Boldak, and Bahram Chah crossings.
