Taliban have rounded up dozens of mentally ill people in Bamyan and Daikundi

According to the published information, these individuals, after being transferred, have been handed over to the "Afghan Red Crescent Society" institution so that necessary treatment and care can be provided.

The report from the aforementioned ministry states that out of the total number of these individuals, 110 were identified and transferred in Bamyan Province and 125 others in Daikundi Province.

The Taliban have described the purpose of this action as "addressing the situation of individuals afflicted with mental illnesses"; however, some observers say that the lack of appropriate treatment centers and non-standard methods of dealing with patients could raise concerns about the status of these individuals.

The Taliban's Ministry of "Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice" has announced that the enforcers of this group in the provinces of Bamyan and Daikundi have gathered more than 200 individuals with mental health issues from urban areas.
