World Chess Federation: Taliban should reconsider the decision to ban chess.

In an interview with the TASS news agency, he described chess as a positive and constructive game and said he is working with the International Olympic Committee to reinstate the sport within Afghanistan’s sports framework.

Dvorkovich added that he plans to meet with the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to emphasize the importance of continuing this game in Afghanistan.

This comes as the Taliban’s sports administration recently suspended the Afghanistan Chess Federation and declared the game “forbidden,” a move that has sparked widespread reactions.

Arkady Dvorkovich, president of the International Chess Federation, urged Taliban authorities to reconsider their decision to ban chess in Afghanistan.
