Three Pakistani police officers killed in roadside bomb blast near Afghan border

Pakistani officials have stated that this explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device.

The explosion occurred on Wednesday, and no group has claimed responsibility for it so far; however, Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan's Interior Minister, has held the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) responsible for this incident.

The ongoing violence in this region has led to increased tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Islamabad accuses Afghanistan of providing a safe haven to the TTP after the Taliban's takeover in 2021. Nevertheless, the Taliban have consistently emphasized that no group uses Afghan soil for activities against Pakistan.

Pakistani media have reported that following the explosion of a roadside bomb in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, in northwestern Pakistan near the border with Afghanistan, three police officers were killed and two others were injured.
