Daily Telegraph: Taliban still hunting former British colleagues in Afghanistan

A Taliban official told the Daily Telegraph that these individuals are banned from leaving the country, and according to him, “spies are not included in the general amnesty.”

The British Defense Minister apologized in Parliament on Tuesday to those whose information was exposed due to a technical error. The leaked list includes the names of 25,000 asylum seekers, among them members of the security forces who collaborated with Britain and their families.

Meanwhile, British media reported that after the list was leaked in 2022, the British government spent billions of pounds to secretly relocate thousands of these individuals to the UK to protect them from Taliban retribution.

However, a Taliban official told the Daily Telegraph that they had access to these lists at that time, in 2022. He also stated that many of these individuals have either fled Afghanistan or gone into hiding.

According to the report, the Taliban has assigned groups to monitor the homes and relatives of these individuals.

This comes despite the Taliban consistently denying the detention, torture, and killing of former military personnel; however, this report reveals the Taliban’s crimes in pursuing, detaining, and killing former military personnel.

The Daily Telegraph, quoting Taliban members, reported that a leaked list of former British collaborators in Afghanistan has been in their possession since 2022, and the Taliban is pursuing these individuals.
