Ukraine War; Zelensky Meets European Leaders to Seek European Support

Following the cessation of financial aid from the United States, Zelenskyy will urge the leaders of the "European Political Community" at this summit to provide greater support for Ukraine's war against Russia.

This meeting takes place one day after European Union leaders discussed and exchanged views on using frozen Russian assets to finance a new €140 billion (US$164 billion) loan for Kyiv.

Meanwhile, Bart De Wever, the Prime Minister of Belgium, called on EU leaders to ensure that if frozen Russian assets are used to finance loans for Ukraine, the risks will be shared collectively.

He emphasized that, following his previous warnings, he needs legal assurances, as the seizure of assets could create problems.

Zelenskyy's renewed request comes at a time when Europe, following a series of provocative actions by Russia, is on high alert and faces increased pressure to support Ukraine, especially as the United States has shifted its focus to security concerns in Asia and other regions.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, will meet with approximately 50 European leaders in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark on, October .
