Fazli: Doha Agreement Has No Legitimacy; Decision Should Be Left to the People

Referring to the experience of the Republic government, Fazli stated that although the previous government had signed security agreements with the United States and NATO, these commitments were not implemented when needed and did not guarantee survival. He added: "The current government does not even have the paper legitimacy of the Republic, and relying on the Doha Agreement to gain international legitimacy has been fruitless from the start."

He also criticized some non-Taliban politicians who emphasize the implementation of the Doha Agreement, considering them in practice aligned with the Taliban. In his view, the only sustainable solution is to turn to the people and establish a national political process based on collective will, rather than relying on "intelligence-driven and colonial" agreements.

In part of his remarks, Fazli warned the youth not to be deceived by the promises of foreign powers and to keep their distance from groups that, under the guise of "pragmatism" or "expediency," seek to justify support for the Taliban and Trump's statements about Bagram.

In conclusion, he stressed that opposition to foreign intervention should be the fundamental principle of Afghanistan's national policy—a principle that is not based on the Doha Agreement but on an independent and national political process.

Fazl Mahmoud Fazli, the former head of the Administrative Office under the Republic system, has emphasized in a published note that the Doha Agreement cannot serve as a basis for internal or international legitimacy for the Taliban regime, and only the people of Afghanistan have the right to determine the country's political destiny.
