Taliban: 300 Afghan migrants released from Pakistani jails

The ministry stated in a statement released on Thursday (16 Asad) that these migrants entered Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak crossing.

According to the statement, these individuals were detained from various regions of Pakistan and had spent between 20 days and three months in that country's prisons.

The Taliban have not provided any information regarding the reasons for these individuals' detention; however, in recent months, Pakistani police have been arresting and imprisoning undocumented Afghan migrants.

This action by the Taliban has faced criticism from many international organizations and human rights institutions, which have called for an end to this trend; however, Pakistan has not relented in its stance toward migrants.

The Taliban Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation announced in a statement that 299 Afghan migrants have been released from Pakistani prisons and returned to their country.
