Security Council issues travel permit for Taliban's deputy prime minister

The council stated on Saturday, August 2, through a statement published on its official page, that it has temporarily lifted the travel ban on Abdul Salam Hanafi to allow him to travel to Doha, the capital of Qatar, for treatment.

According to the Security Council’s announcement, Abdul Salam Hanafi is scheduled to be in Doha from August 14 to August 31.

In the past month, this is the second time the Security Council has issued a travel permit for Taliban officials who are on the organization’s sanctions list.

Previously, a travel permit was also granted to Khairullah Khairkhwa, another Taliban official.

The United Nations Security Council has announced that a travel permit has been issued for Abdul Salam Hanafi, the administrative deputy of the Taliban’s prime minister, from August 14 to August 31 to receive medical care in Qatar.
