University of Regina announces transfer of 30 Afghan female students from Qatar to Canada

Global News reported that these students have been stranded in Qatar under uncertain conditions following the cessation of financial aid from the United States. Meanwhile, the University of Regina has proposed to relocate them to the province of Saskatchewan and admit them to the university.

Fariba Rezaei, the founder of the Vancouver-based organization "Women Leaders of Tomorrow," which focuses on supporting the education of Afghan girls, stated that the group has managed to raise a portion of the required funds, ranging from 140,000 to 500,000 dollars, to cover the tuition fees for these students.

The University of Regina has also emphasized its readiness to accept these students and noted that efforts to complete the transfer process are ongoing in collaboration with supporting organizations.

This comes as the female students in Qatar have been living in a state of uncertainty for months, unable to continue their education or plan for their future due to a lack of financial support.

The University of Regina in Canada, in collaboration with a human rights advocacy organization, has announced that it will take steps to secure the necessary financial resources to transfer 30 Afghan female students from Qatar to Canada.
