Pakistan: Afghan Taliban and Pakistani Taliban jointly involved in Islamabad suicide attack

He stated during a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday (November 25) that clear evidence shows the bomber was an Afghan citizen.

According to Tarar, four suspects were arrested in the 48 hours following the attack, and one of them confessed that the attackers had entered Pakistan from Afghanistan and received training there.

Pakistan's Information Minister added that the attack was planned under the guidance of Noor Wali Mehsud, leader of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and orchestrated by a commander named "Dadullah," who coordinated operations in Pakistan through an individual named Sajjadullah.

In the Tuesday explosion on November 12 in the G-11 area of Islamabad, at least 12 people were killed and 27 others wounded. The blast's intensity also caused several vehicles near the site to catch fire.

One day after the incident, Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan's Prime Minister, accused India and the Afghan Taliban in parliament of involvement in the attack as well. The Taliban has not yet responded to these allegations and had previously dismissed similar claims by Pakistan as an "internal matter" of the country.

Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan's Minister of Information and Broadcasting, has claimed that the Afghan Taliban and the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan jointly played a role in the Islamabad suicide bombing.
