Alaska Summit Ends; Trump, Putin Evaluate Meeting Positively

The meeting lasted approximately six hours, and after a brief press conference, neither of the two leaders answered journalists' questions and left Alaska.

Trump stated that he and Putin had made "great progress," but negotiations regarding the Ukraine war concluded without reaching a specific agreement.

The U.S. President, in an interview with Fox News, emphasized that the responsibility for a ceasefire lies with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, and added that a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin would soon take place. Trump also noted, "Both of them want me to be present at that meeting."

Meanwhile, Putin also described the atmosphere of the talks as positive and invited Trump to hold the next round of negotiations in Moscow.

Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, and Donald Trump, President of the United States, met on Friday, August 15, at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska.
