Fayeq: Afghanistan is in crisis and facing terrorist threats without an inclusive government

He added that only by establishing an accountable, inclusive, and representative government that represents all ethnicities and groups and adheres to national and international commitments can the current impasse be overcome.

Faqeh called on the international community to pressure the Taliban to compel this group to engage in genuine dialogue and negotiation with all parties.

He warned that terrorist groups such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda continue to recruit in Afghanistan, and the increase in Taliban-run jihadist schools has intensified security threats against the region and the world.

Afghanistan's representative stressed that only with the existence of a legitimate, legal government accepted by the people can stability and lasting peace be established in the country. He also urged the international community not to leave the people of Afghanistan alone in these difficult circumstances and to provide practical support in the path toward strengthening an inclusive and representative government.

Faqeh also pointed to the human and economic consequences of the current crisis, stating that the continuation of the political impasse has exacerbated poverty, increased forced migrations, and limited people's access to education and basic services. He emphasized that resolving the root causes of Afghanistan's crisis would not only benefit the people of this country but also contribute to the stability and security of the entire region, and that the international community must act responsibly in this regard.

Nasir Ahmad Faqeh, Afghanistan's representative to the United Nations, emphasized in the recent Security Council session that humanitarian aid alone is not capable of resolving the crisis in this country and that the current situation is fundamentally political.
