Denmark donates nearly $5 million to Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund

OCHA, on Tuesday (18 Qaws), expressed appreciation for Denmark's assistance to Afghanistan through a message posted on the X network.


According to OCHA, Denmark's continued support helps aid workers provide lifesaving assistance to families affected by emergency conditions.


Meanwhile, humanitarian organizations have repeatedly warned this calendar year of a funding shortfall for providing aid to those in need in Afghanistan.


The World Food Programme has also announced that, due to a shortage of financial resources, the number of recipients of food assistance in Afghanistan has decreased from 10 million to 2 million people.

The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs of the United Nations (OCHA) has announced that Denmark has allocated 30 million Danish kroner, equivalent to 4.66 million US dollars, to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund.
