Kazakh President Calls for Continued Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan

Mr. Tokayev, on (Friday, 21 Qaws) at the International Conference on "Peace and Trust" in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, said that addressing complex humanitarian issues and the reconstruction of Afghanistan is essential.


The President of Kazakhstan had previously announced that, with the support of the UN Secretary-General and partner countries, a regional center for the Sustainable Development Goals in Central Asia and Afghanistan has been inaugurated in Almaty.


Tokayev stressed that Kazakhstan remains committed to supporting the people of Afghanistan through humanitarian assistance, educational projects, trade development, and food security initiatives.


He added: "To ensure regional security, it is essential to continue providing assistance to Afghanistan and to strengthen international efforts to address complex humanitarian issues and the reconstruction of that country."

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, emphasized the necessity of continuing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and considered it important for ensuring regional security.
