US forces target drug-trafficking vessel in Caribbean Sea

According to a statement released by this command, the action was carried out following the receipt and evaluation of intelligence information indicating that the vessel had been operating in known drug trafficking routes in the Caribbean region and was linked to networks designated by the United States as terrorist organizations.


The statement noted that as a result of this operation, three individuals, identified by U.S. authorities as "elements associated with drug trafficking and terrorist activities," were killed.


The U.S. Southern Command emphasized that this operation was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to counter drug trafficking and weaken organized criminal networks in the region.

The United States Southern Command has announced that, as part of an operation known as "Southern Zone," on February 13, it targeted a vessel involved in drug trafficking in the waters of the Caribbean Sea.
