Taliban confirms killing of deputy commander of 10th security district in Herat

Seyyed Masoud Hosseini, spokesperson for the Taliban security command in Herat, stated that two armed individuals entered a barbershop in Herat city with the intention of robbing the property and those present at the location. According to him, the deputy of the tenth security district of the Taliban engaged the attackers and was severely wounded in the process.


Hosseini added that this Taliban official lost his life due to the severity of his injuries after being transferred to a medical center. He also stated that the attackers fled the scene after opening fire; however, Taliban forces identified and arrested both individuals.


Meanwhile, the "People's Liberation Movement of Afghanistan," a lesser-known military front, had claimed responsibility for the attack on the deputy of the tenth security district of the Taliban in Herat through a message issued two days prior.


Even before the Taliban's official confirmation, local sources had reported that one of the officials of this group's tenth security district in Herat had been killed as a result of an armed attack.

The Taliban security command in Herat has announced that the deputy of the tenth security district of this group was killed following an armed attack. The Taliban has identified the perpetrators of the incident as "armed robbers"; however, the "People's Liberation Movement of Afghanistan," a lesser-known military faction in western Afghanistan, had previously claimed responsibility for this attack.
