IRNA News Agency: Abbas Araqchi returns to Pakistan from Oman

He had left Islamabad for Muscat yesterday evening, after meeting with Pakistan's Prime Minister and Army Chief.


According to this report, some members of the delegation accompanying Araghchi have returned to Tehran for consultations and to receive necessary instructions regarding issues related to ending the war, and they are scheduled to rejoin him in Islamabad on Monday evening.


Meanwhile, Donald Trump, President of the United States, canceled the trip to Pakistan by Steve Witkoff, his special envoy for Middle East affairs, and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, following Araghchi's travel from Islamabad to Oman.


Trump has stated that the United States has the necessary leverage at its disposal and Iran can take steps toward negotiations whenever it wishes; however, according to him, sending representatives on a lengthy trip to Pakistan without a clear outcome is unjustifiable.


Despite the cancellation of the American delegation's trip, Pakistani officials have emphasized that they will continue their mediation efforts to facilitate dialogue between the parties.

Iran's official IRNA news agency has reported that Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, after concluding his trip to Oman, will once again head to Pakistan before departing for Russia, to hold fresh meetings with officials of that country.
