Prominent cleric of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan killed in blast in Waziristan

Local sources say that this cleric, who was in charge of the religious school "Wafaq-ul-Madaris" in the region, was targeted in an attack while returning from the school to his residence.


Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, condemned this incident, calling it a clear sign of the failure of the country's security institutions. He called for the immediate pursuit of this attack and the punishment of its perpetrators.


Fazl-ur-Rehman also pointed to the increasing insecurity and terrorist attacks in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, describing the security situation in these areas as alarming and emphasizing that the government has not properly fulfilled its role in ensuring the security of citizens.

Following the explosion of a bomb in South Waziristan, Sultan Muhammad, one of the leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, was injured and passed away after being transferred to the hospital.
