Taliban Supreme Court approves new court rules

Abdul Rahim Rashid, spokesman for the Taliban's Supreme Court, announced that Afghan citizens, in the event of committing ta'zir crimes, will face varying punishments depending on their social class.


According to him, this classification does not apply in cases where the crime leads to hudud or qisas punishments.


This decision has met with widespread reactions, and human rights experts and groups advocating for the rights of women and citizens have described it as unequal and discriminatory.


Some have warned that such a procedural code could undermine justice in Afghanistan's judicial system and lead to abuse.

The Taliban's Supreme Court has officially approved the new procedural code for the courts of this group.
