Pakistan's Defense Minister Stresses Government's Readiness for Dialogue with PTI

Khawaja Muhammad Asif, referring to the fact that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has raised the proposal for political negotiations on several occasions, added: "The federal government seeks to reduce tensions and find a solution through mutual understanding; however, we have not received a positive response from Tehreek-e-Insaf."


Previously, the Prime Minister of Pakistan had stated in a cabinet meeting that, to strengthen political stability and focus on the country's development, he is ready to once again enter into negotiations with the leadership of Tehreek-e-Insaf. Shehbaz Sharif had emphasized that these dialogues must revolve around legitimate demands and take place within the framework of the constitution.


Based on statements from government officials, the administration is striving to create coordination among political currents to pave the way for economic growth and political calm. Nevertheless, Tehreek-e-Insaf has so far refrained from accepting these proposals.


Relations between the government and this party entered a new phase of tension following the arrest of Imran Khan, the leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister of Pakistan. Although contacts and meetings were held in recent months to reduce differences, these efforts did not yield tangible results, and the political crisis continues unabated.

Pakistan's Defense Minister has announced that the government of this country continues to keep the doors of dialogue open to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party; however, according to him, this party has adopted a non-constructive and hostile approach toward the government's efforts.
