Moldovan President: Taliban delegation report faces disciplinary action in Moldova

She stated: "It is a source of shame that government officials or individuals in high governmental positions are unaware of their country's policy toward a government or regime."

The President of Moldova also emphasized that the matter of the Taliban delegation's visit will be investigated, and those responsible will face disciplinary punishment.

According to Sandu, officials from Moldova's Ministry of Agriculture had not reviewed the country's official policy toward the Taliban prior to facilitating this trip. She found this astonishing and asked where these officials "are even living?"

Sandu went on to criticize the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well, stating that the request related to this trip had been approved by the ministry. She added: "It seems they do not read all the documents related to foreign policy."

Moldova's Foreign Ministry confirmed last Monday that visas had been issued to members of the Taliban Ministry of Agriculture delegation. However, the ministry stated that Moldovan officials would have no official or bilateral meetings with the Taliban delegation members.

The arrival of this delegation drew negative reactions from Moldova's senior officials. Prior to Sandu's remarks, Vasile-Florin Țuțu, Prime Minister of Moldova, had also described the Taliban Ministry of Agriculture delegation's visit as "shameful and unacceptable."

The Prime Minister of Moldova had said that the approval of this trip stemmed from an "assessment error and institutional misalignment."

Meanwhile, Moldova's Foreign Ministry has announced that the Taliban delegation members who entered the country are not on the list of international sanctions. Nevertheless, the ministry stressed that the Republic of Moldova remains committed to all international sanctions imposed against the Taliban and does not recognize the Taliban.

Maya Sandu, President of Moldova, has described the visit of a Taliban Ministry of Agriculture delegation to the country, which took place earlier this week, as "shameful" and announced that officials who played a role in facilitating this trip will face disciplinary actions.
