Norway: Taliban to end discrimination against Afghan women and girls

Norway's diplomatic mission, on Friday (May 21), in a note on the social network X, expressed concern over the Taliban's child marriage decree and emphasized the need to support children's rights.


This Norwegian diplomatic entity for Afghanistan has also emphasized protecting children's rights and ensuring justice and equal rights for all people of Afghanistan.


Previously, UNAMA had also expressed concern over the Taliban's approval of the spousal separation law and stated that Article 18 of this statute is part of a broader and deeply concerning trend that is gradually eroding women's rights in Afghanistan.

Norway's diplomatic mission for Afghanistan says that the Taliban must end discrimination against women and girls in Afghanistan and adhere to human rights commitments.
