China: Taliban should take action to eradicate terrorist groups

China's Foreign Minister made these remarks at the seventh meeting of the "Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia" (CICA) in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At this meeting, he also presented a four-point initiative aimed at strengthening regional cooperation. In a portion of his speech on Afghanistan, Wang Yi stressed the importance of coordination among regional countries, the continuation of humanitarian aid, and support for the economic development of this country.

He described Afghanistan as an inseparable part of Asia's security architecture and called on the Taliban to undertake real and tangible actions to counter terrorist groups.

This request comes as China, despite maintaining close diplomatic and economic ties with the Taliban, has repeatedly expressed its concerns about the activities of extremist groups in Afghanistan and the potential spread of security threats to regional countries.

Wang Yi, China's Foreign Minister, has urged the Taliban administration to take practical and effective measures to eliminate terrorist groups in Afghanistan and ensure long-term stability. He emphasized that cleansing Afghan soil of the presence of these groups could pave the way for lasting peace and stability in the region.
