Sources: Taliban Information and Culture Chief Killed in Armed Attack in Badakhshan

Meanwhile, Ehsanullah Kamgar, spokesman for the Taliban's security command in Badakhshan, has confirmed to media that Zabiullah Amiri, the head of information and culture for this province, was targeted in an attack by two armed motorcyclists in Baharak district and killed.


He added that the motive and perpetrators of this attack have not yet been identified, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.


This attack comes as Badakhshan has witnessed an increase in activities by Taliban opponents in recent months.

Local sources in Badakhshan say that Zabiullah Amiri, the Taliban's head of information and culture in this province, has been killed in an armed attack on the Faizabad–Baharak route.
