Meanwhile, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) has announced that Uzbekistan's imported electricity has encountered a technical issue due to snowfall, resulting in disruptions to power supply in 12 provinces.


DABS stated that one of the poles of the 220 kV transmission line for imported electricity from Uzbekistan, located in an area between Pul-e-Khumri and Kabul, was damaged due to heavy snowfall and storms, causing a power outage.


Following this incident, the provinces of Parwan, Kapisa, Panjshir, Kabul, Nangarhar, Laghman, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Logar, Paktia, Khost, and parts of Baghlan province are facing power shortages and frequent outages and interruptions.


DABS added that, due to the intensity of the snowfall in the Salang Pass, technical teams are awaiting an improvement in weather conditions so they can identify the exact location of the damage and resolve the issue in the shortest possible time.


At the same time, DABS has announced that the technical issue in the transmission line for imported electricity from Turkmenistan to the provinces of Balkh and Faryab has been resolved, and power has been restored in the provinces of Balkh, Jowzjan, Sar-e Pol, and Faryab.

The National Disaster Management Authority under the Taliban administration has announced that, due to heavy snowfall and rain in the provinces of Parwan, Nangarhar, Bamyan, Maidan Wardak, Kandahar, Jowzjan, and Faryab, at least 12 people have lost their lives and five others have been injured.
