Local sources: Taliban 8th Security District Commander Killed in Internal Clashes in Kabul

According to these sources, the incident occurred in the Kart-e Now area, and Badr was killed following gunfire from one of the Taliban fighters.


Information received indicates that this event took place after a verbal altercation began among Taliban members, and the clash among individuals from the group ultimately led to shots being fired and the death of the regional chief for the eighth district.


Sources also add that the Taliban, after this incident, transferred the body of Samiullah Badr from Kabul to Maidan Wardak province. No further details are available regarding the identity of the individual who opened fire or his fate.


This incident comes at a time when clashes among Taliban fighters have been reported in the past as well. A short while ago, in a clash between a group of fighters from this group in Badakhshan province, one civilian lost his life.
