Sources: Hundreds of people in western Kabul taken to health centers with symptoms of poisoning

According to published information, residents of four areas—20-Meter Road neighborhood, Erfani township, Qala-e-Naw, and Abreshan—have experienced symptoms such as headaches, diarrhea, and vomiting, and a large number of them have sought treatment at local hospitals. At the same time, local sources have reported widespread and unprecedented ambulance activity across various parts of western Kabul.

A doctor at one of the area's hospitals stated that initial examinations have confirmed poisoning in a number of patients. According to him, most of those seeking care have been from the Qala-e-Naw area, and preliminary tests have indicated the presence of the "amoeba" parasite in the bodies of patients in many cases.

Nevertheless, the main cause of these poisonings has yet to be identified. Some local residents have speculated that the tanker water used by families may be the culprit, noting that certain individuals fell ill with symptoms after consuming it.

One resident of western Kabul told the private network "Farda News" that all the members of his family, including his wife and five children, have been poisoned, while only he himself has not been affected.

Western Kabul has faced serious challenges in recent years regarding access to drinking water. In many areas of this part of the city, the drying up of wells has forced families to rely on mobile water tankers to meet their needs.

As of the time of this report, the Taliban administration has not taken a position on the reported poisonings in western Kabul.

Local sources reported on Sunday that hundreds of residents in western Kabul have been poisoned—an incident said to have been ongoing for at least three days, with the majority of victims being children.
