Atta Mohammad Noor: Don't send young people to their deaths for the "happiness of foreigners"

He emphasized on Saturday, October 4 (the 4th of Miizan), in his account on the social media platform X, that the path to Afghanistan's freedom must be based on the will and actions of the Afghan people themselves.


In his message, Mr. Noor wrote that the country's freedom will be achieved through "the firm, independent will and bold actions of the people themselves," not by becoming a "proxy force and foot soldiers of foreign powers." He stated that this view is based on his 45 years of experience in war and struggle in Afghanistan. He is also a member of the Leadership Council of the Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan.


Atta Mohammad Noor's remarks come at a time when, in recent years, several political and military groups have been active against the Taliban. The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, the Freedom Front of Afghanistan, and the United Front of Afghanistan are among these groups, which have reported carrying out attacks against Taliban forces in various instances.


On the other hand, the Taliban has repeatedly accused its armed opponents of being affiliated with foreign countries. Taliban officials claim that opposition groups are supported and directed from outside Afghanistan, and that their activities serve the interests of other countries. These accusations are made even as the anti-Taliban fronts, including the Freedom Front of Afghanistan, deny any proxy affiliations and say their goal is to achieve freedom, secure citizens' rights, and end Taliban rule in Afghanistan.



Atta Mohammad Noor, the former governor of Balkh and a leader of Jamiat-e Islami, has urged the armed opponents of the Taliban not to send young people to the battlefield and to death for "the pleasure of foreigners and to gain notoriety."
