Taliban report 12 deaths following heavy rains and flooding

Mohammad Yusuf Hamad, spokesman for the Taliban's disaster management department, said on Thursday (January 1) that heavy rains and intense snowfall over the past two days have caused flash floods in several provinces.


According to him, these floods occurred in Kapisa, Parwan, Daykundi, Uruzgan, Kandahar, Helmand, Badghis, Faryab, Badakhshan, Farah, and Herat.


The spokesman for the Taliban's disaster management department added that as a result of these natural events, 850 families have been affected and 219 families displaced. Additionally, 274 homes have been completely destroyed and 518 other homes partially damaged.

The Taliban's disaster management department announced that following heavy rains and flash floods in several provinces, at least 12 people have been killed and 11 others injured.
