Younis Qanooni: The Taliban's intelligence service is behind General Saari's assassination

In his recent statements, he said that the Taliban intelligence not only pursues targeted assassination programs against figures and opponents of this group inside Afghanistan, but also outside the country.


According to him, these actions are considered part of the Taliban’s policy of physically eliminating opponents.


According to Younus Legal, following the assassination of General Sapee and Mohammad Amin Almas, a former Afghan military official, a special delegation has been appointed to engage in discussions with officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran and pursue this case seriously. He described the objective of these discussions as identifying the perpetrators of this incident and preventing the recurrence of such events in the future.


These statements come as the assassination of these two former Afghan military officials in Tehran has provoked widespread reactions among the political leaders of the former government and anti-Taliban currents. As of the publication of this report, the Taliban has not officially responded to these allegations.

Younus Legal, former Vice President of the Republic of Afghanistan, has attributed the assassination of General Ikramuddin Sapee, former commander of Takhar Police, to the Taliban intelligence apparatus.
