Local sources: Insurgents capture Taliban checkpoint in Andarab

According to these sources, the incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday following a rocket attack and clashes between the attackers and Taliban forces. It is also said that the attackers, after gaining control of the outpost, took with them a quantity of Taliban weapons and equipment.

Based on received information, the "Awlad" outpost, located approximately two kilometers from the center of Deh Salah district, came under attack around 10:20 PM on Wednesday. Sources say that after the rocket attack began, clashes erupted between the two sides, and sounds of gunfire and explosions were heard in the area.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for this attack. The Taliban have also not reacted to this incident or the reports regarding the capture of their outpost up to this point.

According to sources, following this event, Taliban forces conducted searches of residents' homes in several villages in Deh Salah district on Thursday.

This is not the first attack on Taliban outposts in this region in recent days. Previously, on August 5, a Taliban outpost in the village of Kaseh Tarash in the Qasan Valley of Andarab district had been targeted by a rocket attack. After that attack as well, the Taliban had searched the homes of local residents.

Meanwhile, attacks by anti-Taliban groups have increased in various parts of Afghanistan. The Afghanistan Freedom Front, National Resistance Front, United Front of Afghanistan, and Homeland Soldiers Front have carried out attacks against Taliban positions in various provinces in recent days.
