New Zealand urges its citizens to leave Iran immediately

This warning comes as Iran has witnessed widespread protests and an unstable security situation in recent days.


According to information from this ministry, contact has so far been established with 39 registered New Zealand citizens in Iran, and efforts to follow up on their status are ongoing.


New Zealand officials have emphasized that although this country's embassy in Tehran remains operational, due to severe restrictions, it is unable to provide consular services in the usual manner, and the ability to offer assistance in emergency situations has been severely curtailed.


The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged all its nationals to leave Iran as soon as possible to ensure their safety and to refrain from attending any gatherings or being present in high-risk locations.

The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has issued an official statement urging all citizens of this country currently in Iran to leave the country without delay.
