Syria condemns explosion at Shama Hedayat school in Dasht-e-Barchi, Kabul

In a statement issued on Friday, 30 Asad, and published by the state-run SANA news agency, the Syrian Foreign Ministry announced that Damascus stands with the people of Afghanistan and expresses its full solidarity with them. The ministry also wished for the swiftest possible recovery for the injured in this incident.


This explosion took place on the afternoon of Monday, 26 Asad, near the private "Shama-e-Hidayat" school in the Mahdiya Dasht-e Barchi neighborhood. According to published reports, at least 42 children were injured as a result of this incident.


However, officials from Shama-e-Hidayat school have reported the number of injured as 52 people. The Emergency Hospital has also stated that 35 children were transferred to this medical center following the incident.


To date, no group has claimed responsibility for the explosion. The Taliban have stated that the incident resulted from the throwing of a hand grenade or bomb.


The explosion near Shama-e-Hidayat school has elicited widespread reactions from various countries and organizations. Prior to Syria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, the United Nations, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation had also condemned the incident and responded to it.



Following the explosion that occurred near the private "Shama-e-Hidayat" school in west Kabul, the Syrian Foreign Ministry has also reacted, condemning the incident.
