Pakistan: Karachi Attackers Trained in Afghanistan and Sent From There

The report also states that six individuals have been identified as the planners and organizers of this attack, including Umar Qari, Maulvi Ahrar, Abdul Wajid, Mullah Taher Afghan, Mullah Abdul Mannan, and Umar Afridi. The Jamaat-ul-Ahrar group claimed responsibility for this attack.


This incident occurred on Saturday, June 6, in the Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi, where the Rangers military base was targeted. As a result of the attack, three Pakistani soldiers were killed and four others were wounded.


The Pakistan Army had previously stated that a suicide bomber detonated his explosives at the entrance gate of the base. Following that, three other armed attackers engaged in a firefight with security forces, during which two attackers were killed and one other was wounded and arrested.


According to the police, the arrested individual identified himself as Usman Ali and claimed to be a resident of Jalalabad, Afghanistan. During interrogations, he identified the suicide bomber as "Janan" and the two other accomplices as "Umar" and "Abdul Hadi," stating that Janan and Umar were Afghan citizens and Abdul Hadi was a Pakistani citizen from the Bajaur region.


Pakistan police have emphasized that these individuals were members of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar based in Afghanistan and had been dispatched to Pakistan on the orders of the aforementioned persons to carry out the attack. It is also claimed that their training was conducted in Afghanistan under the supervision of Mullah Taher Afghan, Mullah Abdul Mannan, and Umar Afridi, commanders of the group.

Pakistan police have announced that four attackers who targeted the Rangers military base in Karachi had been dispatched from Afghanistan to Pakistan. According to the police, these individuals were affiliated with the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar group and had received their military training in Afghanistan.
