An Afghan woman and her three children died suspiciously in Karachi, Pakistan

Pakistani police have announced that the exact cause of death for these four individuals will be determined after the completion of forensic medical examinations and review of other evidence. However, the newspaper *Dawn*, quoting police, has reported that the woman was likely suffering from "emotional disorder" and it is believed that due to family problems, she first killed her young children and then ended her own life.


Media have also reported that a heartbreaking video from the incident scene has been released, in which the hanging bodies of a woman and three children can be seen.

Local police have identified the victims as Fatima, 35 years old, Sonaam, 10 years old, Arzoo, 3 years old, and Armaan, 2 years old.


Najibullah, Fatima's husband, who is originally from Punjab and works in the vegetable market in the Sohrab Goth area, told police that around 4 a.m. on Sunday, he left home for work and upon returning, found his wife and three children hanging.


According to police, Fatima was Najibullah's second wife, and Sonaam, one of the deceased children, was his daughter from his first wife.


Police suspect that this woman, before ending her own life, had killed her two young daughters and son; however, they have emphasized that the final results will be announced after forensic examinations.


Based on police statements, no signs of struggle have been observed at the incident scene so far, and neighbors have also said that they did not hear any sounds of arguing.


Aurangzeb Khattak, deputy police officer of Sohrab Goth, said that based on reports, this woman sometimes physically abused her children, and her husband would occasionally threaten in anger that if this behavior continued, he would take another wife.


Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, the Home Minister of Sindh Province, has ordered an immediate, impartial, and transparent investigation into this case. However, the Sindh Provincial Home Ministry, in a statement, has described this incident as "suicide" based on initial examinations.

Pakistani media have reported that the bodies of an Afghan woman and her three children were found hanging in their home in the Sohrab Goth area of Karachi, Pakistan, on Sunday.
