Axios Report: Trump Angrily Calls Netanyahu a 'Fucking Madman'

According to the report, Trump accused Netanyahu of "irresponsible" behavior during the call and warned that a potential attack on Beirut could further isolate Israel internationally. Informed sources say the U.S. president ultimately prevented the implementation of Israel's plan to strike Lebanon's capital.


Axios also quoted U.S. officials as saying that Trump expressed concern over the rising civilian death toll in Lebanon and opposed the Israeli military's approach of targeting residential areas to hit Hezbollah commanders. According to these sources, Washington recognizes Israel's right to self-defense; however, it considers the escalation of military operations disproportionate.


This call took place as the Islamic Republic had warned just hours earlier that continued Israeli attacks on Lebanon could halt the process of indirect talks with the United States. At the same time, Iranian officials and institutions affiliated with the IRGC had also warned against a potential attack on Beirut and spoken of a reciprocal response.


Another section of the report stated that Netanyahu announced after the call that Israel's stance toward Hezbollah remains unchanged; however, an Israeli official confirmed that under current circumstances, there is no plan to strike targets in Beirut. Trump, for his part, emphasized after the conversation that negotiations with the Islamic Republic are still progressing at full speed.

The Axios website, citing informed sources, reported that Donald Trump sharply criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's performance in Lebanon during a Monday phone call and issued a stern warning against escalating the conflict. According to American sources, this conversation was one of the most tense exchanges between the two leaders since Trump's return to the White House.
