Russia's massive attacks on Ukraine leave five dead, dozens injured

According to Oleksandr Hanza, governor of the Dnipro region, Russian strikes on the city killed four people and injured 16 others. Footage from the scene shows extensive damage to residential buildings, burned-out vehicles, and the complete destruction of a children's playground.

In Ukraine's capital, at least one person has been killed and 29 injured. Local officials reported that a probable missile strike on a 24-story building caused part of it to collapse, with several residents feared trapped under the rubble.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said several other buildings had caught fire as a result of falling missile debris. As air raid sirens sounded, thousands of the capital's residents took shelter in metro stations and public bunkers.

These attacks came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had warned of the possibility of a large-scale Russian assault. Russia, for its part, announced last week that it planned to carry out "systematic strikes" against military targets and decision-making centers in Kyiv, stating that the actions were in response to last month's drone attack in the Luhansk region—an incident Moscow claims left 21 dead, though Ukraine has denied responsibility.

Following a fresh wave of Russian airstrikes on several Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv, at least five people have been killed and dozens more injured. Ukrainian officials say these attacks targeted residential areas and urban infrastructure in the early hours of Tuesday.
