Türkiye deports 20 Afghans without residency documents

According to the police, three individuals were also arrested simultaneously on charges of involvement in refugee smuggling.


Based on the police announcement, these refugees have been transferred to the Bursa Migration Directorate for deportation proceedings after completing administrative processes.


In recent months, Turkish authorities have intensified the detention and deportation of undocumented refugees, most of whom are Afghan citizens.


Previously, Turkey's Migration Directorate announced that 19,574 Afghan refugees had been detained across various parts of the country in the first six months of the current calendar year. Based on these figures, Afghan citizens top the list of detained refugees in Turkey.

Turkish police have announced the detention of 20 Afghan refugees lacking residency documents in the city of Bursa.
