United Front claims attack on Taliban governor's office in Ghor

The United Front, led by Sami Sadat, stated in a newsletter that, based on initial information, the attack resulted in the death of one of the Taliban governor's bodyguards and injuries to eight other Taliban forces.


Meanwhile, local sources say the Taliban, following the explosion, have arrested at least 10 people on charges of connection to the incident. The Taliban have also increased security measures in Firozkoh and blocked the routes leading to the governor's office.


Media outlets close to the Taliban have reported that one individual was killed on charges of throwing a grenade at the Taliban governor's office in Ghor. According to these media reports, a child was injured in the incident, and the accused individual was shot while attempting to flee.


Hayatullah Mubarak is the Taliban governor in Ghor; however, it is still unclear whether he was present in his office at the time of the explosion.


Prior to the claim of responsibility for this attack, local sources had reported a powerful explosion in Firozkoh city, the capital of Ghor Province. Some sources had said the explosion occurred at the Taliban governor's office.



The United Front of Afghanistan has claimed responsibility for the explosion at the Taliban governor's office in Ghor Province in a statement. The front says its forces carried out a targeted operation against the Taliban governor at the provincial headquarters in Firozkoh city.
